1 x pair of longer front braided hoses
All bolts and fittings to fit the kit to your car.

Type III Mil-Spec hard anodising replaces Type II black anodising as the standard finish on all base and powder coat finish caliper models. This process produces a thicker, harder surface with a rich, medium-grey appearance.  More importantly, it creates a more durable wear surface in the piston bores, with increased resistance to abrasion and corrosion over the entire external surface of the caliper.

Please note, this brake kit is made to order, so may have a leadtime of approximately 7-10 working days. Pictures are for illustrative purpose only .

Ask a Question

  • Is there a floating disc option on wilwoods ? I'm sure I've seen them on an MX5, if so are they just for track & show cars

We can make 2 piece discs for the MX5 Wilwood kit. They're available here: these have fixed fittings rather than floating bobbins.

  • Hi. Would my Rota Rb 15x8 +25 fit over this wilwood bbk? 2002 MX-5. Thanks

The best way to know is to download the template and check the fitment behind a wheel.

  • Hi, I was looking for the wilwood dynalite 4 pot brake kit for my 2003 1.8 mx5. I want grooved discs, but i can't figure out what the color i can choose is for. Best regards.

The colour option is for the coating we can have applied to the discs.

  • Hello, does these callipers use some standard type brake pads or there is the range of pads supplied by wilwood and other manufacturers? I had experience with some pads overheating quickly in track while others holds well so just wondering what options I got if run into overheating problem with pads supplied.

These calipers run different pads to the MX5 but we can supply most makes and compounds.

  • How much extra would it cost to get red callipers? What’s the best choice of pads for a fast road application?

Red calipers would be special order from Wilwood in the USA, and normally cost around 50% more with a 6-8 week lead time.

  • Will the break kit fit inside a 15” ET20 rim

It really depends on the spoke design. Your best bet is to download the template and check.

  • Is the gold gloss or matt finish?

The colour option refers to the coating applied to the discs, not caliper.

  • Hi I'm looking for new brakes for my MX5 97 NA. I'm turbocharging it and to register it and make it road legal It will be used on the street mostly but some trackdays per year. I will need to upgrade the brakes. In the rear I think NB sport brakes is enough (to register it). What about brake bios valves? I came across these and I wonder what the biggest difference is between the dynalites and midilites, the price difference is not that huge.

The Midilite calipers are radial mount and supplied with 300mm discs. Dynalites are lug mount and supplied with 280mm discs.

  • will these fit behind 16x8 et20 wheels

Probably, but to be 100% sure, it's best to download and print out the template above and try it behind your wheel.

  • Hi. I've 15 inch Rota grid drift wheels ET20. Will these fit? Cheers

Best option would be to download and print out the template above and check for wheel clearance.

Yes, we currently have plenty of these in stock. Delivery is normally within 48 hours.

  • Do you offer the same kit for the rears, and does that have a separate hand brake caliper? Thanks

The rear big brake upgrade is here The handbrake mechanism is built into the caliper. We could design a rear setup with seperate handbrake mechanism but the cost would be higher. Email and we'll go through some options.

  • is the third option bar, were you can select multiple colors, the pot caliper paint? kind regards, David

The colour list is what the braided hoses are supplied in. The calipers are supplied either black or more recently grey

  • Hi, what is the difference between the dynalite and powerlite wilwood calipers? Which would you recommend for a turbo mx5 that will see track work?

The Powerlite caliper is smaller and more suited to lightweight kit cars rather than heavier road cars. They run smaller pads than the Dynalite and Midilite options so comparative pad life would be reduced.

  • What diameter pistons do these Dynalites have?

These calipers are supplied with 35.1mm (1.38") pistons. However if you wanted something smaller or larger, let us know and we can supply.

  • What's the difference between the dynalite and the midilite calipers?

The main differences are the Dynalites are lug mount and fitted with stainless steel pistons and no dust seals, the Midilites are radial mount and fitted with aluminium pistons with dust seals.

  • Will this kit fit on a standard 2005 Mk 2.5 which currently has the standard 251mm brakes installed or are extra parts required? Thank you!

Hi. This kit comes complete with everything to bolt to the car, nothing extra should be required.

  • On my mazda mx5 nb 1.8 will 15 inch wheels still fit

You may need spacers depending on the spoke design. We recommend printing out the template and test fitting it behind the wheel.

  • Will this kit fit under a 15x7 wheel?

Yes the kit should clear 15x7” wheels.
